IIT-JU Secures British Council TNE Exploratory Grants in Collaboration with UK Universities

Duration: 1 Year Starting from June 2025

Institute of Information Technology, Jahangirnagar University (IIT-JU) in collaboration with Nottingham Trent University, has successfully secured a project grant from the British Council under the Transnational Education (TNE) Exploratory Grant program.

In this project, IIT-JU in collaboration with Nottingham Trent University (NTU), UK, American International University of Bangladesh (AIUB), Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) and other associate partners focuses on widening access to tertiary education for disadvantaged individuals in Bangladesh through the use of generative AI.  Prof. David J Brown (NTU), Dr. Arif Rahman (NTU), Dr. M Shamim Kaiser (IIT-JU), Prof. Dr. Risala Tasin Khan (IIT-JU), Prof. Dr. Md. Rubaiyat Hossain Mondal (BUET) will work on this project along with other members. This project utilizes NTU’s Inclusive Education Toolkit to enhance accessibility for students with disabilities, learning difficulties, and those from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds. By integrating AI-powered engagement tools, the project aims to remove educational barriers and improve inclusivity in Bangladesh's higher and vocational education sectors. These initiatives reflect IIT-JU's commitment to advancing education, fostering technological innovation, and ensuring equitable opportunities for all.
